Alan is a Chartered geologist with over 15 years’ experience within the metalliferous mining and industrial minerals sector. Alan is a member of the overseas mining team and is mainly involved with undertaking Mineral Resource estimations, QA/QC audits, design of exploration programmes and peer review of existing such work. Alan has also authored and co-authored numerous other technical studies including technical due diligence, pre-feasibility/feasibility studies, NI43-101 Technical Reports and Competent Persons Reports (CPR) mainly for metalliferous projects across Central Asia, Russia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Potential for Metal Recovery from Historic Tailings Retreatment

Whilst tailings appear to be waste there may remain economic value to be recovered, particularly from historic operations where metallurgical recovery was inefficient. WAI will review potential for the retreatment of historic tailings deposits as well as methods of exploration and Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve estimation.
