Robin Simpson – Principal geologist, SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan). He has over 25 years’ experience in geology that includes Mineral Resource estimation, mining geology, geostatistics, sampling, 3D geological modelling. Prior to joining SRK in 2005, Robin worked as a mine geologist at open pit and underground gold mines in Australia. He supplemented this practical experience with a period of study towards an MSc in Geostatistics from the University of Leeds, and graduated with a Distinction result. With SRK, Robin has signed off on many Mineral Resource estimations as an independent Competent Person under the JORC Code, or as a qualified person under NI 43-101. His particular commodity experience covers most precious and base metals, rare earths, diamonds, phosphate and uranium. Robin is also an expert user of Isatis, Surpac and Leapfrog software. Robin has presented several Mineral Resource estimation training courses, to groups in Kazakhstan, Ghana and Australia.
