14th Mining and Exploration Forum
MINEX Kazakhstan
The 14th MINEX Kazakhstan Mining and Exploration Forum will be held on 17-18 April 2024 in Astana. Reflecting current priorities and trends in Kazakhstan, the Forum is organised under the central theme “Sustainable development of the mining industry for the benefit of society and the environment”. The annual MINEX Forum in Kazakhstan, held since 2010, attracts key stakeholders including ministry heads, international organizations, domestic and foreign mining firms, technology and consultancy enterprises, financial institutions, stock exchanges, investors, universities, and industry associations. The forthcoming April forum anticipates over 100 speakers and approximately 400 attendees from Kazakhstan and 30 countries across Europe, North and Latin America, South Africa, Australia, China, India, Mongolia, Malaysia, and New Zealand. This year’s event is poised to witness a record influx of foreign investors keen on exploring and developing precious metals, copper, coal, lithium, and uranium, as well as rare and rare-earth metal deposits, marking a historic milestone for the forum.
FORUM AGENDA
Within the MINEX Forum framework, discussions will cover mining and metallurgical industry development, along with the Kazakh government’s “Kazcontent 2.0” initiative aimed at boosting indigenous industries. Special emphasis will be placed on attracting investment for the state-initiated extensive geological exploration program to exploit new deposits of critical minerals, as announced in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address to the Nation of Kazakhstan. Additionally, the DigiTech conference on 18th April, integrated into the forum, will showcase Industry 4.0 solutions empowering mining firms to enhance performance and gain competitive edges.
