Ruslan Baimishev has a background in law and geology, as well as an MBA in Mining Management. During his career he has played a significant role in the geology and subsoil use industry in Kazakhstan. He led the development of the geological sector at the Republican Center for Geological Information "Kazgeoinform" and worked on reforming subsoil use legislation, serving as Director of the Subsoil Use Department for Solid Minerals at the Ministry of Investment and Development. He has also served as National Coordinator, Head of Secretariat in Kazakhstan and international board member of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). From 2019 to 2022, he was Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan. He currently holds the position of President of the Chamber of Mines of Kazakhstan.
