The key directions for the development of the mining and metallurgical industry in Kazakhstan
Currently, the mining and metallurgical industry in Kazakhstan is facing a number of challenges, including the depletion of the mineral resource base, complications in logistical routes, and the need to improve the regulatory framework to attract investments. The response to these challenges should be significant steps by the state aimed at attracting investments in geological exploration, creating comfortable working conditions for exporters, and amending key laws and codes (such as the Subsoil Code, Land Code, Environmental Code, etc.). In addition, the industry needs to establish an effective and transparent dialogue with the government on supporting Kazakhstani manufacturers and producing higher value-added products.
